We are here to help while our practice is temporarily closed. We are available to discuss your concerns and give advice over the phone where appropriate. This will be free of charge. Where we feel more information is needed (or if you are a new patient to the practice) we can book a virtual consultation over video link. These appointments cost £30.
Can osteopathy still help me via phone or video?
Hands on care is fundamental to osteopathic practice. However, as osteopaths, we are highly skilled at diagnosing based on the information we gain from taking a case history, observation, and movement assessments.
There is plenty of practical help and support we can provide by:
- Discussing your symptoms
- Offering a diagnosis where appropriate
- Giving you self-care strategies to manage your condition and help with pain
- Advising specific exercises
In situations that are not suitable for video consultations, we will do our best to provide you with appropriate advice until you can be seen at the practice, or refer you onwards if needed.
How does the virtual consultation work?
A virtual appointment works in the same way as a face to face session and includes discussion, assessment, diagnosis and a treatment plan as usual.
Once your appointment is booked, we’ll send you an email with a link to the video call. You can use a computer, tablet or smart phone for the consultation.
If you are not familiar with technology, this is no problem – we can talk to you over the phone about how the process works. The video link is fully encrypted so you can be sure your information is confidential and secure.
After the appointment, we will send an invoice for the session.
What else do I need?
You will ideally need to be in a quiet room with good internet access, where you can comfortably talk about your health issues in confidence.
If we’re carrying out a video consultation, please wear loose comfortable clothing that you can easily move in and so that we can see any injuries if needed.
If you are under the age of 16yrs you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout your appointment.
If you are struggling with an issue and still have questions about how a virtual appointment could help you, please get in touch and we will try to answer your queries.
We also have virtual physiotherapy available and can advise you on which appointment would be best for you.
If you need advice or would like to book an appointment, please get in touch by phone on 01234 823621 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If you had a regular appointment which was cancelled, we’ll be in touch to let you know when we’re able to reopen the diary as normal.
